I recently left a two year lesbian relationship with a girlfriend where I constantly felt the inequality in our relationship: I worked from home running my own business, but that meant I also did the cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, trip planning, dog walking and puppy training... It took a while for me to get that she liked it that way, she liked having a 'wife' who took care of her. Eventually I came to my senses and walked away, and now I'm the happiest I've been in years. Proudly self-partnered.
Thanks for writing this article, it helps for other kinds of relationships, too! I feel seen and understood.
